You know how everyone says rain on a wedding day means good luck? But like no one actually wants it to rain...? We'll let me tell you about a day in May when two people planned to get married outside at Brooklyn Botanical Garden and the mother of rain storms was predicted. That's right. Thunderstorms! So, we prepped with rain plans in place and ceremony rolled around and surprisingly, no rain... so, they decided to go for it; outside under a big oak tree --- like the wrong place to stand when lightening hits.
Meet Laura + Yufei, the two that braved potential lightening to marry one another! Okay - a bit dramatic and sort of inaccurate. Because even though we'd prepped for rain, when it didn't roll around, they got to get married under the big tree as planned. The night went on with an outside cocktail hour and a hat-off reception complete with GORGEOUS florals + mini succulent escort cards by Designs by Ahn. It never freakin' rained.
But the best part of it all? They'd accepted it. The plan would probably need to change. But that wasn't the important thing! They were gonna MARRY each other. That was the thing. These two kept the focus so when the plan did actually go through it was like the best gift ever. Also, the snowdays cocktail hour treat was a pretty amazing part too. Dessert at cocktail hour? Count us in!
