Rewrite the rules of your pre-love party festivities!
There once was a puppy. The cutest puppy in the entire world. And he had a job to do. Oh, wait! We're getting ahead of ourselves.
Meet Annie + Emory… two rebels who are changing the world individually through their socially minded careers [urban planning + reproductive rights respectively] and whose partnership would make even a love-skeptic swoon. They brought on Modern Rebel for full planning, design + coordination and we spent 7 months bringing the most bangin' love party to life! With the help of the most incredible and value focused vendors, we brought Hawaii [Emory grew up there!] meets Winery to life.
But the best part of it all? You mean aside from Maui, their adorable pup, greeting guests as they entered the ceremony space? That was tough to top! But the sheer emotion after ceremony was so palpable. It's rare as a planner you get pulled into a group hug full of tears for a solid 30 seconds post-ceremony but that was how real and raw the emotions were. So much to celebrate. Aside from the couple themselves + their amazing community - we were able to pump some personality into Brooklyn Winery, plus an epic flower wall and a dance-y crowd belting "Born this Way" at the top of their lungs. It was a love party for the books and an epic way to kick of PRIDE month. Cheers to you, A+E!

“If the vendors we find don’t support our community and don’t stand up for equality we don’t want to use them - period!”
Meet Meghan + Alex… Modern Rebel’s first couple in the DMV area! This incredible laid-back Baltimore duo met just when they were about to give up on finding love, but the universe knew just how to get them back on track. The two met up at a bar in Takoma Park and had such a great time together that Alex almost forgot to ask for Meghan’s phone number. Luckily, they exchanged numbers and they took a chance on love and formed a union that radiated throughout their out their entire community of LGBTQ folks, and nothing reflected that more than their love party! This pair rallied up their “Best Mates” and created the wedding of their dreams surround family, friend + pure joy.
But the best part of it all? This was a love party through and through! When Meghan said that she and her partner Alex wanted their community represented in every aspect of their wedding - they meant it! The wedding was put together by all LGBTQ friendly vendors that also just so happen to be the friends of the couple. The DJ, venue, flowers and even the beer all produced and created by their life-long friends and family. Honestly the best part of it all was being able to witness their love. Cheers Meghan and Alex!
