We recognize that couples are all unique, and we’re not interested in a manufactured wedding experience. We love getting to know our couples and helping them focus on priority #1: their relationship’s success in this process! Not to mention, we are committed to non-fussy ease of communication throughout the planning.
Our team is a diverse set of people who wanted to work in the event industry in some capacity but never feel like they fit in the traditional "wedding planner" role. NYC HEAD COORDINATOR - Modern Rebel HQ, NYC

Modern Rebel, an alternative event planning company is currently in search of a Head Coordinator for our Modern Rebel NYC events. This person will be in charge of event production for up to 20 coordination clients in 2020 and beyond. The coordination process is a 30 day process with our couples who have booked a “coordination” package with us. It involves timeline creation, site visit, a phone meeting, an in-person meeting and coordinating various logistics as well as on-site production.
This is considered an independent contractor role and the ideal candidate has an additional job that does not compete but allows for time flexibility and weekend availability.
Note: Candidates should also anticipate paid trainings and assistant opportunities in Fall 2019.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Sales Calls with Potential Clients
-Managing Inquiries + Following Up with Leads
-Implementing Our Coordination Process
- On-site Event Production
-Gregarious + Comfortable Interfacing with Clients and Leads via Phone or In-person
-Dynamic self-starter with strong work ethic
-Ability to work independently, prioritize work load, multitask, and project manage
-Confident, fast learner and quick thinker
-Strong listener with ability to communicate and interact across position levels
-Entrepreneurial spirit with a positive attitude
-Flexible schedule including some evenings and most weekends
-Passion for the Modern Rebel brand and mission
At least 1 year working in an event production role - ideally, weddings, but not limited to it.
This role is a sub-contractor position.
Specific compensation details will be shared for applicants that move to the first round of phone interviews.
Looking to make decision by October 1. Events they’ll be contracted for will be for 2020.
