Shine bright like a diamond
They met in college and life quickly became a blur from there - moving to NYC + pursuing acting careers. As Denée described it, “we’ve been each other’s north stars, each other’s anchors because our lives are so hard to plan for - given the nature of Broadway + filming schedules.” They wanted their Orlando, FL kick-off party for the rest of their lives to reflect the bright lights in their lives - their community, their traditions, and the brightness they feel just being surrounded by so much love. The January day was full of bright colors, a Junkanoo band to direct guests post-cocktail hour to a bubbly champagne wall to “find their seat” and a light installation that hung over the tables like stars above. Given their focus on community, we recommended they get married in the round and the result could not have been more magical - everywhere they turned, they were reminded by the bright lights in their lives. What a feeling.
[Modern Rebel is] so much more than wedding planners in an industry that can feel so shallow and obsessed with the binary. It was important for us to find a planner that led with similar values as [we] do. Inclusivity, individuality, and diversity are so much more than hashtags for their company… They executed a love party that was beyond our wildest dreams.
