They bonded over their love for the beach and considered just eloping in Hawaii but NYC felt too much like home - their first date was at Cornelia St. Cafe! For Annie + Emory, it was important to lean away from delicate and go more retro. No dusty pinks - let’s play with Hawaii inspired colors - lean into the rocky nature of the wave. Less precious / more fun. Maui, their adorable pup greeted guests on their way in, a floral backdrop set a simple but stately tone from the get-go and they wanted people to get a taste of the beach there in Brooklyn. The couple hired all women and/or queer vendors + wanted as much as possible, for the event to reflect them - sincere and understated with a twist on the traditional. Everything about this party was magic. And hey, whoever said life is a highway clearly never rode a wave.
